Wellness Wednesday: The Glue Syndrome

Greetings ♡
Today’s Wellness Wednesday post is pretty straight forward: take care of yourself. If you don’t do for you, then it will be very hard to do for others. Sure, we know selfless giving is a way to give without the expectation of anything in return, but what about what you give to you? We make time for so many other people & commitments. We exhibit what I like to call the Glue Syndrome, where we keep things together for everyone else, but we forget about ourselves (I am truly guilty of this). We have to make that time so that we can replenish our resources & give our best. Someone reminded me of this the other day, that in order to give our best to others we need to also offer the best for ourselves.

With that being said, when’s the last time you really gave back to you? When was the last time you told yourself I love you, gave yourself a hug  (for real), or looked in the mirror & said something kind & loving to yourself? I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t do this as often as I should, but I make the effort if even just one word of kindness to myself a day for a few seconds, to encourage & fill myself back up with what is required so I can continue to give it others. It definitely takes practice, but hey, we’re worth it, right?

Love yourself & be yourself. Peace & Love ♡☆
