Tipping the scales….

I hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend πŸ™‚ Having the day off yesterday, I aimed to make it a very good & balanced, & productive day off. Alot of times, we don’thave enough time for ourselves. We get caught up in task oriented behaviors & before you know it the day is gone & we are tired or burnt out. Something to think about today, that when you get your free time today, even if it is for a few minutes before bed, spend it wisely. Do something good for you that brings you closer to your Self. Do something that reminds you of the importance of the balance between mind, body, & Spirit. Yesterday, I emptied my thoughts into my journal (mind), Β did a new exercise & Kemetic yoga routine (body), & spent some time in the evening in further meditation & prayer (Spirit). These are things I love to do but don’t always get to do all on the same day. What will you do today to acheive your balance? Set yourself free & connect with You. Love yourself & be yourself. Peace & Love β™‘ β˜†

Activity: Today, think of one thing you can do to spend some time with yourself & achieve your balance. Write it down in a safe place & make it a priority today. It could be 5mins or 1hr. Whatever it is, make sure you do it. Start the week balanced so that you can flow in a clearer direction for your day to day. A very simple yet profound way is to Journal. Write out what you may have been stressing about, what you may have been worried about, what has made you angry. Clear your mind. A suggestion to this is to end off writing about what you love, what brings you peace, & what you can do to bring yourself back into that peace when life’s troubles try to block your path. It will help you see the contrast between the not so good times/situations, & help you see the silver lining & to never give up β™‘

The Power of Hope

Have you noticed how when you focus on your problems & then consciously focus on a positive outlook with hope for a brighter future, your World that once felt so small in the midst of your anxieties , now seems bigger & broader? That’s Hope. When we feel discouraged because of setbacks or disappintments, troubles or negative situations, it’s so easy to get swept away into self doubt & negative self talk. But, when you hope, when you give yourself some space to breathe, some forgiveness, some gratitude, some Love, all of a sudden you feel brighter, lighter, & solutions, positive ideas & thoughts begin to pour in. You start remembering that you can do this, that the setbacks are onlt temporary, & your goals are still within your reach. Believe in yourself & give thanks that you are still here making it through! Love yourself & be yourself. Peace & Love β™‘ β˜†

Activity: Take notice today of how your body reacts to your thoughts. Pay close attention & should you notice that your shoulders are slouched, your facial expressions are glum, & you just feel blah, take a moment to examine your thoughts. Are you stressed? Are you worried thinking about the past or the future? Focus on the present right here & now & breathe in the moment. Feel some gratitude for it & put aside the stress & anxiety. Now, see how your body relaxes & it becomes easier to smile? πŸ™‚ Bless up my lovlies!

Learning how to love yourself is often overlooked. A lot of times, it’s an assumption that one does Love themself, however, so much of our energies are used making ourselves so busy searching outside of ourselves for a love that fulfills us most, & yet everything we need resides within, first & foremost. We just have to cultivate it, nuture it, give it our best. In that, we endsending that positive vibration outward & reflecting it back to ourselves, & in turn, being our truest selves. The Soul Touch

Makes you want to scream out from intellectual pleasure

Moving far beyond words & physical touches
That’s what this type of love will do for you
Soul connecting
Bond maturing
Future building
Forever flowing
Love that stems from the World before even this one was created
Reaching far into the dimensions of the next World that has not yet begun
So much so that each time our bodies unite we can vision this World’s beauty & beyond.

Spring has sprung!

Amidst the cooler & rainy days that resemble Fall, Spring is finally here! New blossoms will be coming forth, old & sleeping trees are coming back to life, & new things are in the making. What gift/talent do you have that you want to share with the World? Winter was hibernation so why not let Spring inspire you to continue to perfect that craft & bring it to life this season? As Mother Nature begins to shine more sunlight into our days, let that be our signal to shine more light onto the projects that we may not have been attending to (whether it be professional or personal, physical or spiritual ), & make way for their new debut! Activity : No time like the present to bring some more light & life to that project that may have been collecting dust or on the back burner. Make some time this week or organize some time this weekend & put some energy into a project that you haven’t been able to or that you haven’t completed. You may not finish it just yet but just by spending that time, it may bring some new inspiration to you that you didn’t know was there. πŸ™‚ β™‘

We too often put ourselves into boxes, living under the conditions of what we think should be or what we think (or have been told) others want us to be. Unfortunately, this leads to alot of mixed feelings within. We begin to feel as though we are living double or conflicted lives & feel trapped into one reality. Fear may be holding us back but what is life without taking risks? It can be scary to make a life shifting decision because we don’t know what the outcome may be. We will never really know unless we make a move. So be free! Find things to be gratfeul for & free yourself from fear! Free yourself from living in a box & live not only the life you want to live but the life you know you need πŸ™‚ Love yourself & be yourself. Peace & Love β™‘ β˜†

Activity: Finding is difficult to get out of your rutt? Making a list of Pros & Cons is a classic way to help yourself make an informed decision from a personal perspective about what you want to do. Being patient is key here because depending on the choice you are trying to make, this list make be long. As well, do your reasearch about the options you have. Learn more about each one to help you make an even more informed decision. It is so freeing to see clealry what your options truly are from each of these perspectives because now we can feel more confident in the decision we make. Remember, we can only plan so much & we may not always know all the variables, but if we equip ourselves with the information we need, we can make a decision that is most right for us. The key is that we have to make tha decision for us and not because of anyone else as we are living our lives β™‘

Blessed Monday to you all. Here’s to a great week ahead πŸ™‚ Focus on the gift of the present moment. Too often we find ourselves stuck in thoughts of past situations or predicaments, saying shoulda-woulda-coulda. Then, there’s the thoughts of the future, where we overplan, getting caught up in what we think ought to be. Either side, we have no control. I have bennΒ infamous for worrying, presently not as much. My father always said to me growing up, “Dont worry girl, just focus on what is here now & cross the other bridges when you get to them.” To plan is important, but also remember that what’s done is done & we truly can’t predict what will happen tomorrow. The only way to create the future we want is to focus on what is right in front of us: today. We are standing in it. Embrace it! Show gratitude! Focus in the good we can do today & lay that as foundation for the tomorrow we want to see, because it’s within this present moment that we can harness what we need to aid in a brighter tomorrow. Love yourself & be yourself. Peace & Love β™‘ β˜†

Activity: Today’s try this: When I find myself in a worrying state, thinking those shoulda-woulda-couldas or what ifs when it comes to the next day, I look at what my actions are at that presnt moment. It could be washing dishes or making the bed, & my mind starts travelling. To bring myself back to he present & tell myself, “I am putting this glass in the cupboard, working at keeping my kitchen clean, ” or “I am spreading this sheet & making my room feel in order.” It brings me out of worry & into focus on the gratitude of the moment. Try it! Anytime today when you feel the past or future worries spring up, focus on your present task at hand & bring peace to where you are right now, with whatever you are doing right now ( if what you’re doing is not healthy, this may also be a wake up call ti help you make a healthier choice) πŸ™‚

Losing sleep…..

It’s Friday! “And I’m ready to sing/pick up my girls & hit the party scene/tonight…”lol my Aaliyah fans know this one! But study study study will be my weekend (oh wonderful midterms!). Today’s Feel Free Friday moment is a short & sweet one: Set your clocks! Remember to try & get some sleep this weekend because Mother Nature is turning the clocks on us. Yay to 1hr less sleep! Well, at least we know warmer weather is soon approaching & we can start enjoying some more sun. I am grateful for that πŸ™‚ What are some things you are grateful for? Enjoy your weekend lovlies! The Test of Time

Ever notice how when you set your mind to not do something, you are confronted with that exact thing? “I will not eat sweets today!” & the first thing you encounter on your way to work or school or wherever, is the smell of fresh baked cookies. Or my favorite one, saying my morning prayers & asking for divine patience, & right as the words leave my Spirit or mouth, somehow I end up behind a school bus when I’m trying to get to the train station in time to get parking. Grrr! Tests of time I call them. The things we pray for, the things we ask Almighty to help us avoid or achieve, are the same things we are tested with. I truly believe it is to see how we respond to what we aren’t always aware of, so that we can prepare ourselves for the things we are looking for. Sometimes, we get many tests! Sometimes it’s the same or similar tests, but ultimately it is for the same reason: to work your way towards the better you! Work through the tests & live to the fullest! We may not always get it right but show your work! There’s always credit in that πŸ™‚ Knowledge is infinite, so it will infinitely be available to us. We just have to look & be patient. Love yourself & be yourself. Peace & Love β™‘ β˜†

Activity: Pay close attention today for signs that what you’ve been praying about or desiring in your heart is soon to appear in your life. Are you needing love? Look for the good in your life & you will see you always had love. Asking for patience like me? We always had it, we just need to exercise it when confronted with situations that would cause us to feel impatient. Whatever it is, look for ways to put to work the talents you have so that when the time comes you can do your best & pass with flying colors!

When you just smile…

Marvelous Mondays! How we greet the day usually sets the tone for the rest of it. Mondays sure can be tough can’t they? “I just wanna sleep in! Okay, 5 more minutes….”turns into “Oh no, I’m late! ” I, too, am guilty of this from time to time (& not only on Mondays). A good way to get through that, aside from getting to bed at a decent hour as regular as possible, is to smile! You use less muscles to smile & the action puts the positive thought into motion. You can’t help but think good & not “Oh crap,” thoughts. Try it! Smile a while & give thanks! Today is a new day! Love yourself & be yourself. Peace & Love β™‘ β˜†

Activity: Smile throughout the day. Challenge yourself to smile (inwardly & outwardly) through stressful situations, annoyances, anything that presents as a test to positive energies. Proactivley approach the day & give yourself a chance to react in a more positive way. And of course, pray & give thanks because whatever it is, each day is moment by moment & tomorrow is a new day β™‘β˜†β™‘β˜†
