Motivational Monday : Winter prep

​Good morning ♡

It’s the last Monday of October 2016 🙂 &  a new month will begin tomorrow. This weekend not only marked Halloween (today), but also a new moon cycle began last night. What new things are you working on that you want to bring more focus to? What are some of ypur goals that you want to aspire to? As we will soon enter into a new month, let’s be inspired by another beginning & put some freshness towards our To-do lists. With Winter fast approaching, it’s easy to think about closing up shop & hibernating until Spring rolls back around. There is no doubt that Winter definitely calls for this type of shutting down & putting away of things. But in the coziness of our hibernation, we can still apply Springtime attitudes, & prepare ourselves for what the new Season will have in store. Make a list of things you have been working on(or want to work & haven’t started yet), & make a list of the progress you’ve made so far & want to make in the weeks ahead. Give thanks & take the time (even if it’s only 5mins a day) to invest in yourself. You’re definitely worth it, don’t you think 😉 Love yourself & be yourself. Peace & Love ♡☆

Wellness Wednesday : The breath of Life 

​Good morning ♡

For today’s Wellness Wednesday post, I thought I’d follow up on last week’s post about remembering to breathe. What’s the number one thing we do when we feel anxious, nervous or scared? We hold our breath! Sometimes consciously or unconsciously, we hold our breathe.  We somehow instinctively feel that by holding our breath we are somehow stalling the process of the experience we are having. Little do we realize that in the physical & spiritual aspects, we are withholding our life source from our beings. 

Sitting in a meditation last week, stressful & anxiety-provoking thoughts entered my mind. My once slow & deep meditative breathing became fast & shallow. When this happened (& it happened quite a few times in this meditiation) that I heard Spirit say, “Hey, take a deep breath & calm down; let that thought go.” When I listened & did what was needed, my breathing began to slow down & I took in more air. How many times do we do this? Hold our  breathe in anxiety, hyperventilate, etc? In further retrospect, I see that this has been a habit of mine since childhood, holding my breath when I’m anxious or nervous, sometimes just to see how long I could hold it, sometimes to keep my tummy from looking round so I’d breathe shallow. Overall, I realize how this habit has stolen some life from me but all is not lost. There is plenty of life-giving air to be had.  So fear not & take those deep, belly-rise & fall breaths. We have nothing to lose but everything to gain: the essence of existing as our trues elves, fully & deeply. Love yourself & be yourself.  Peace & Love ♡☆

Motivation Monday ! 

​Good morning ♡

Happy Monday people! Here we are again, & as annoying as Monday seems, having to leave the weekend behind & start another work week & all, what is the opposite of annoying? Let’s ponder that for a moment & then consider the possibilities of how we can counteract the annoyance the famous Monday morning drag. According to the dictionary, the opposite of being annoyed is, “gratify, to soothe, to aid, etc.” The biggest one that stood out for me of course was, you guessed it, gratify! To be grateful! To find satisfaction! To feel content. I actually like Mondays, as I feel grateful for my work, I feel grateful that the weekend was a safe one & my loved ones have made it safely into a new week, & I am grateful for another chance at Life. So today, instead of going alomg with the norm of the “Mucky Monday blues,” make yourself a gratitude list, physically or mentally, & find satisfaction, find gratification, in everything that you have been blessed to have or be in contact with.
