Greetings peeps!
Thankfully we have made it to the end of the week & the weekend’s here! Happy Feel Free Friday! Today’s, I want to share with you a quick inspirational about the concept of endurance. One of the toughest things to do is to keep working towards your goal when the process is nothing like what you thought in you head. Still, your heart is in the right place but the obstacles & tough times have you feeling unsure & like you ought to give up. It’s not perfection of the process but rather working your way through to reach the goal.
So as the New Year began, I was ready to get back to my gym schedule after being off from work & recovering from a stomach flu. “Yes,” I said, “today will be the day!” That was the first week of January & things were swamped at work. Usually my lunch breaks are when I do my workouts but being so busy I was only able to get to the gym twice in 3wks. Trust me, I felt it. Stiffness in the joints, tension in the muscles, & I was feeling way less flexible. So this week, I made sure I took my breaks to get to the gym & made it 4 times this week.
Worried mostly about my flexibility, I was apprehensive at first in yesterday’s Yoga class. Thankfully (& surprisingly to myself) I was able to get into the positions and hold them for longer periods & better than I expected 🙂 In particular, the Pigeon pose is sometimes challenging, not to mention the King Pigeon pose (as seen below; I tried to get my own picture but without a tripod it’s very challenging to do on your own; this picture is close to how I actually held the pose). Let’s just say the King Pigeon pose was always a struggle for me. I could barely get my back leg up. But yesterday, I not only got my leg up, I reached around & held my foot! And held the pose on the both sides! I felt good about it to say the least. There were moments of struggle, moments where I had to readjust because of knee pain & lost my balance, but I still managed to stick it out & & my body felt great when I was done. Not only that, but my Spirit felt more balanced & I felt a large relief from the week’s stress.
When the class was done, the message of not being hard on one’s self, came to mind. The importance of encouraging yourself through tough positions in life is crucial to helping yourself getting through some tough moments. Whatever it is you’re going through, stick it out through those tough momemnts because the silver lining will only appear of you keep pressing on. You got this!
Have a great weekend! See you soon♡ Love yourself & be yourself. Peace & Love ♡☆
