It’s another new day ♡ In that we carry gratitude for Life again & the ability to live 🙂

Today’s Wellness Wednesday post comes from a conversation I had with some acquaintances recently. The topic of feeling joy when in a troubled or non-ideal situation came up. One person said, “Well, come on now. Who really feels joy when they are in a tough situation? How realistic is that?”Both my other acquaintance & I said that it isn’t so much that you feel happy when you faced with adversity, but it’s your perception of it. Many times our inner Peace gets challenged by situations or circumstances that come up in our lives. Sometimes we blame ourselves, we blame others, we mope, we feel depressed, or whatever else comes up that steals our joy. As much as these feelings are normal & at times to be expected, there is always a flip side. In high school, a friend of mine told me that my optimism was annoying.  She would roll her eyes & say, “Dee,  if I broke my leg you’d say, ‘that’s sucky, but at least your bones will heal stronger after your cast comes off.'” Perception is key. A messed up situation often has another side to it, where we can learn something important, find something deep inside we forgot aout or never knew was missing. If we perceive the blessings in times of despair, we can find that joy that seems unrealistic, & in that, restore the Peace we thought was lost. Be blessed 🙂 Love yourself & be yourself.
